The walk starts at Meden Trail Car Park on Outgang Lane, Pleasley at 10:30 am.
Directions
- From Chesterfield take the A617 Hasland by-pass
- At Heath roundabout, take the third exit to keep on the A617 towards Mansfield
- After 3.6 miles, at the next roundabout (see map), take the second exit towards Shirebrook
- After 150yds, turn right into Outgang Lane
- The car park is 1/2 mile on the right

The Walk
The walk covers approximately 4½ miles and offers a unique glimpse into the area’s past. The walk follows a disused railway line running along the top of a little-known magnesium limestone gorge. Along the way, we’ll uncover the remains of a former textile mill complex and enjoy peaceful stretches beside the River Meadon.
